Spiced up Fila Collection Game. Set . Mattch

To celebrate the start of the 2010 Sony Ericsson Open; stars from the entertainment world unveiled their tennis talent with two of the world’s top class tennis players in an exclusive mixed doubles showdown.

Spice Girl and TV personality Mel B paired up with an ATP World Tour tennis star to battle it out against Cash Money/Universal Republic recording artist; Jay Sean and a WTA Tour tennis ace in front of a live crowd at the home of the Sony Ericsson Open; Crandon Park.

Bringing comedy to the proceedings was Miami funnyman, Benji B, who took to the umpire’s chair as an NFL referee, giving directions as if it was an American football match! Twinned with Real Housewives of New York, reality show star; Kelly Killoren Bensimon who gave a running commentary of the match as the MC.

Jay Sean, Mel B and Kelly Killoren Bensimon were decked out in the latest Fila tennis gear. Check out a few images from the event!

Vilas - Track at Last

Fila have finally got a few more remakes and we love them all. The release of the Incontro track has been a massive hit. The Guys at Stuarts London sales team confirm that the new Fila collection is a winner. Most of the first delivery is nearly sold out and lucky Stuarts has secured a another replenishment. The latest arrival is the Alley track jacket sometimes known as Vilas to others, due to the low v design on the front as panel work. The classic retro track jacket is available in two colours. White with ocean and grey contrast or Red with black and grey contrast. The retro 80s revival has been a long time coming and super independent store such as Stuarts forecasted this change towards retro fashion a few years back. The new release of the 80s Casual book is now on sale at Stuarts store or online and retails for £20.

A great book with loads of pictorial images of the classic clobber we all once wore back in the 80s.

Stuarts London introduces the latest Fila Vinatge collection, and just in time to co-ordinate with the launch of the Firm dvd. The new collection has taken the lads to Stuarts from all over England just like in the old days, more than 20 years ago. The new Terrinda Jackets in French blue have been a big hit, but what's been even bigger are the Matchday settenta's in Peacoat/Ocean blue, a give away price at £65 a pop, Stuarts informs us they can't then in quick in enough to meet the demand. Red matchday isn't far in second place, but don't worry incase stock runs out more is on the way. Love Jacket by Fila Vintage

It's been seen in THE FIRM, it's in all the latest fashion mags, its even in the shop window at the retro fashion shop Stuarts London. Now for the first time in over 20 years the jacket is back. Next season you will see a lemon and grey variation, for now enjoy the original in Navy with white contrast. If this isn't enough, you can match a pair of track bottoms to compliment. Stuarts London reports that the sell through has been excellent with this track jacket, and allot of the younger consumer have been buying the love jacket.

It's a neat track jacket simple in Navy body and white contrast cut and sew panel works. We can't think why its called Love jacket, is it because Film director Nick LOVE likes this jacket and seen about town wearing his, or is it simply because when you get a chance to try one on you will fall madly in LOVE with the LOVE jacket...

If anyone knows why the Love jacket is called this name, then post a comment the right answer will get rewarded.

Gift Boxed - Why all this fuss about a jacket from the 80s?

1973 Fila launched its first collection designed by Pierluigi Rolando. In an age of Tennis Whites, Fila White Line was the beginning of an era that saw them redefine sportswear with an injection of colour and style. These iconic designs caught the eyes of the mass on court and more importantly off the court. Fila weren’t just any normal sports brand. Adopted by the Italian playboys and country club crowds, Fila became the sports brand that everyone aspired to wear.

Settanta Matchday Mark 3

After the previous Fila Matchday jackets in 1982 the mark 3 was launched. Dubbed as the Terrinda jacket by the collectors and lovers of this giant brand, it was the first collection aimed at tennis players and fashion conscious spectators. The Terrinda name comes from the fabric, and off the courts and on the terraces, the Fila terrinda jacket was a must-have piece.

However it wasn’'t cheap in price because of the quality and the time spent on research and development. Originals today from the 80s depending on the quality can fetch up to £1200 on websites like eBay.

The jacket's characteristics are very simple with slight padded shoulders and white piping contrast representing the court markings. The biker style collars complete the timeless look. To put it simply, the Terrinda was way ahead of its time.

Stuarts London has leaked some styles that are due for launch for October 2009. The small injection collection is sell out collection according to the buying team at Stuarts London. Fila Fans have been coming instore and putting there names down for thses tops and jackets.

Fila Vintage collection for Fall / Winter 2009 is looking "Spot On".

The collection for August 2009 is now available in store, lots of styles will also follow, but we have picked the most sought after styles, which we know will sell out.

Great items like the Fila Matchday Leather jacket and the Five stripe jacket done for the first time ever in brown suede. The rare kelly green matchday is back by huge demand and we are nearly sold out of the first batch due to land this August. Also a great new colour has been added, the Navy matchday jacket with red panel sides. If you have been into Fila vintage for a while you may have already taken advantage of earlier re-issues, but this winter there are load of new re-issues like the Bjorna Jacket, also known as the Matchday Jacket mark 2, available this Autumn in Navy.
